Life is understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. - Soren Kierkegaard

My Story.

Welcome, I’m Jenelle! Originally from just outside of Vancouver, BC, I made the move to Thompson, in 2023. This move has been full of unexpected twists, but it has also been a deeply rewarding journey of reconnecting with myself, nature and gathering new experiences. While I miss my family, friends and the endless variety of food from all over the world, I do not miss the relentless pace of the big-city life — the traffic, long and slow commutes, or the RAIN! It was not until I made this move that I realized the toll this pressure had taken on my own mental health. Here, I have found a sense of peace and serenity, a life-balance unlike what I have ever had before.

Outside Of Work, Just Another Human.

There’s a good chance I’m snuggled up with my little donut, Timbit! I may have rescued her, but in so many ways, she’s the one who has saved me. Together, we’re still discovering our relatively new home, often seeking out new places to get our steps in or finding tranquility near the water. I’ve come to love the expansive prairie skies, and I find pleasure in sending sunny, clear-blue sky photos to my family back in BC, especially when I know they’re stuck under the dark clouds and rain—again.

I Wouldn’t Be Me, If I Didn’t Mention Travel…

I love travel — exploring new places, cultures, and ways of living. Over the years, it’s shaped how I work as a counsellor: there’s rarely one “right” way forward, just many paths, each with its own lessons, detours, and moments of growth. And let’s be honest — it’s also reminded me that life is fleeting, and the present moment is all we really have.

If travel has been part of your story too, feel free to bring those stories into the room! While we won’t necessarily be booking flights during sessions, I’m always happy to admire a favourite photo, hear about a well-loved itinerary, or celebrate the little moments of awe that shaped you along the way.

Last trip: My first solo international trip to Croatia

Next up?: Off to Bali with my mom!

Why Choose Counselling?

Life is messy, unpredictable, and full of change — and grief is often part of that, in one form or another. It might show up as the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, job uncertainty, experiences that leave lasting marks (sometimes trauma), exploring future dreams, or simply navigating personal growth. How we respond to these challenges is shaped by our past and the ways we’ve learned to connect with ourselves and others.

I’m passionate about helping people make sense of the messiness. I believe healing happens through building safe, healthy relationships — with yourself and with others. My goal is to provide a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental space where we can explore what’s happening, uncover clarity, strengthen your confidence, and build tools to face life’s challenges.

Together, we’ll reconnect with your authentic self, celebrate the wins along the way, and help you live a life that feels meaningful, joyful, and truly yours.

My Approach: Snacks.

No, seriously — I do have snacks. I believe therapy works best in a relaxed, casual environment, where both of us can show up authentically, just as we are. It’s a collaborative, honest, and deeply human process, and I bring my whole self to the work — just as I encourage you to do the same.

I will ask you these three questions:

  • What are you doing to move you body?

  • How are you sleeping?

  • How are you eating/fuelling your body?

Why? Because mental health and physical health are deeply interconnected, and taking care of your body is a crucial part of healing.

I take an integrative approach to therapy, grounded in trauma-informed and person-centered principles, while drawing on techniques from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative and Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I honor the profound connection between mind and body and am passionate about educating clients on the power of the nervous system — and how to rewire it when it gets stuck in unhelpful patterns.

Who I Work With?

If you’re moving through a season of change, loss, or uncertainty — you’re not alone. Grief shows up in many ways, not just through death, but through transitions, endings, and the quiet moments when life doesn’t look the way you thought it would. I work with clients who are navigating these experiences and want support making sense of it all.

I believe that safe, healthy, and fulfilling relationships begin with the relationship we have with ourselves. It’s the most important relationship you’ll ever have — and often the one we were never taught how to care for. I work with people who want to learn how to trust themselves, feel safe in their own company, and move through life with more confidence and self-compassion.

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and feeling overwhelmed by life — especially those who are tired of pushing through and are ready to feel more in control. If you want to learn how to set and communicate boundaries without guilt, say no without over-explaining, and reconnect with your sense of power, I’d love to work with you.

If you’re ready to show up for yourself in a new way — gently, honestly, and at your own pace — this work may be a good fit.
